I had an epiphany the other day of the perfect photo book that would make my parents cry, make them love me more and make them walk down memory lane. Sometimes my imagination can run away without me but most of the time a photo book will well surpass the power of my imagination!
To make that amazing photo book that will make my parents a basket case I have to first start at some point before that moment that the gift is given. A month would be best. You might say, “A MONTH!? WHY SO LONG?” A month because I plan well and I NEVER let something go to the last minute, right?
Step ONE: (2 weeks time) First, I will do some research and go through the photos. I will find photos that will fit my theme and make sure I have the information for each photo. I don't want to have some random shot with no explanation. That will inevitably be the photo everyone asks the same question... "Where was this!?" I will scan those photos into the computer and make them digital files.
Step TWO: (A few hours time) Second, I will arrange the photos in my favorite photo sharing site like Flickr or PhotoBucket. I'll then fill in the captions for each photo.
Step THREE: (another few hours time) Third, I'll go ahead and input my photo album into my choice of photo book software or website. Silver Street Media is my choice. Then I will simply click on AUTO FILL and copy the captions into my book.
Step FOUR: (at most a week’s time) Fourth, I'll then order the photo books from Silver Street Media website and sit back and wait for the book to arrive!
Step FIVE: (10-30 minutes time depending on your skill) Fifth, I'll take the photo books out of the box and wrap them in wrapping paper and put my parents’ name on the label. Newspaper is not an option.
Step SIX: (about a week’s time) Sixth, I will then enjoy hearing about people who haven’t gotten their gifts yet for the holidays and revel in the fact that for once in my life I am ready for the holidays with gifts already taken care of! I started a month ago and now I have this responsibility off your plate!
Do think that’s too long? Too short?
